Marine mammal observer (MMO) and passive acoustic monitoring (PAM) operator recruitment agencies are springing up overnight because there is a high demand for these services.  OSC, however, does not market itself as a recruitment agency for these types of services because the abilities of the individual operators are not vetted by such agencies.  We pride ourselves in high standards. Many MMOs and PAM operators operating in the field today do not have marine science backgrounds and have obtained their qualifications in only two or three days.
